New Single & Video from Electronic Artist Christian Cohle

Dublin-based electronic / pop composer / singer-songwriter Christian Cohle returns with his latest single ‘Strength on Tuesday, 22 November ahead of his live show in Whelan’s on Friday, 25 November.

Strength was written directly after Cohle's relationship fell apart, with the person who we've come to see as being the muse behind his ‘Wetlands’ album due in 2023. Following on from his previous single 'Another Life', we get a further glimpse into Cohle’s personal life at that early stage of 2020, where we see him at his most vulnerable and heartbroken.

Cohle says;

“the song was written like a prayer, begging for the strength to just get through the day, without doing something stupid, which for me would probably have been relapsing, being sober now for over five years. I was yearning for someone to tell me I was going to be okay."

Visually cinematic, the accompanying video directed by Tristan Heanue filmed in a grimey club/rave setting was inspired by what Cohle was experiencing emotionally at the time. The mesmerising video focuses on the central character who appears lost and at his lowest as he tries to make his way through a sweaty, claustrophobic underground nightclub, wrestling with his demons along the way.

Cohle is an artist with an irrefutable accomplished sound, highly immersive and other-worldly, his music has a cinematic and ambient flare, often grounded by the strength of his vocals, everything he creates and performs weaves together into this atmospheric and deeply electronic influenced world.

His music has been selected for a number of curated playlists on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music, in the electronic/indie space. Championed by many publications: Hot Press, Nialler 9, Earmilk, CLASH and more.

Christian Cohle live at Whelan’s Upstairs on Friday 25 November
