New Irish Hip Hop artist Maazi releases her debut single 'Faded'
There is a brand new hip hop/r&b star on the scene. Originally, from South Africa, 22-year-old Maazi grew up between Letterkenny and Dublin. Maazi has been singing her whole life. She knew was serious about pursuing a career in music from a young age. She won “Killkenny’s Got Talent” at age 11 and entered TG4’s talent show 'Réalta agus Gaolta' with her brother and sister in 2018. While this is only Maazi’s first release, we can see she is a strong character, showing diversity between singing and rapping.
Faded was released last weekend with the video first being shared on Link Up Tv on Saturday 14th November 2020. The following day the track made it to all streaming platforms. This song is one for the girls. Filled with pop inspiration and a hip hop fusion, Faded portrays the period between a bad break up to being completely over it and holding your own again. Maazi was eager to release the visuals in line with the audio to show that a break up is not the end of the world and a “glow-up” is possible. She points out that once you have a good support system, you will bounce back and be 10 times better than before.
