Linda Coogan Byrne from 'WhyNotHer?' podcast has published a gender disparity report for radio in NI




The Northern Irish Gender Disparity Data Report on Radio' carried out by 'Why Not Her?' podcast presenter Linda Coogan Byrne for 2020-2021 has just been published. The gender disparity report includes 11 Local/Community Radio Stations in Northern Ireland.


The stations included in the report are:

BBC Radio Ulster, BBC Radio Foyle, Belfast 89fm,

Blast Radio, Cool FM, Downtown Radio & Downtown Country,

Drive 105, Lisburn 98FM, QRadio, and U105.


This report looks at the gender disparity in Northern Ireland (UK) Radio for Domestic acts. It is an analysis of individual radio stations (listed above), looking at the gender disparity present in the Top 20 most played songs by domestic artists, in Northern Ireland (UK), over the period of Jan 1st 2020 - Jan 1st 2021. The stations include the Top 11 most listened to radio stations in Northern Ireland (UK).
