Kyoto Love Hotel drop 'You Unfold'

Electronic pop duo, Kyoto Love Hotel, released their brand new single ‘You Unfold’, on 22nd October. Taken from their upcoming debut EP, ‘Grow’, which is set for release on Friday 11th December.

You Unfold is about the ritual of remembering. The characters in the song look beyond inherited Christian ideas of an afterlife and instead come to view living/dying as an equal exchange of energy. The words explore the idea of our movements and memories etching themselves onto the landscape, leaving infinite traces behind. It’s a song for a boy who passed away and for the woman that remembers him.

The musical project of Joe Geaney and Laura Sheary, the pair met while growing up in Tipperary but nowadays they collaborate from their respective homes in Cork and Belfast. Delicate understated vocals from Sheary, paired with Geaney’s high production of textured electronic synths, the duo create an intimate sound with the band describing their music:

"They're songs that you can dance to, or cry to, or maybe both, depending on your mood”

Having received glowing reviews on the strength of their last single ‘Machine’, the song featured on Ed’s National Anthems ‘Ceol For The Soul’ (Today FM), Plan B’s One To Watch (Spin 1038), Hot Press ‘Track Of The Day’, as well as topping a host of new music lists and acts to watch. No stranger to the live circuit, the group have played numerous shows around Ireland and further afield. Having performed at The New Colossus Festival (New York), Other Voices, Electric Picnic, Output Belfast and Whelan's Ones to Watch. Their recent releases have garnered attention from notable outlets such as Clash Magazine (UK), The Line of Best Fit (UK), The Irish Times and so on.

‘You Unfold’ is available now on all streaming platforms .
