#D24 Smilez x Youngiz Share New Street Heater 'Outside’
As we edge closer to freedom and the end of lockdown restrictions, we dawn closely into a new era as underground drill and hip hop is slowly starting to take over the Irish music scene. Standing tall and representing Tallaght #D24 Smilez and Youngiz share new single ‘Outside’ the theme anthem of the streets right now. Nominated as RTE 2FM track of the week, the exciting new single made its debut last Friday, since then it’s made its round on stations from Dublin to Cork, Even touching the airwaves on Kiss FM in the UK. Produced by 18 years old, Toronto based beatmaker RicoRunDat, who has been credited on Meek Mills, Fetty Wap, CentralCee and more. ‘Outside’ is certified by banger, depicting the life of a young D24 local, during this lockdown. Smilez commented “Since Corona, I’ve been out way more, I’ve been more active, I’ve just been hands-on with the music, I’ve been Outside. The song is a reflection of that ”. On the creative process, the collaboration happened seamlessly as the pair have been working closely in the studio. Speaking on the music video shoot, Youngiz stated “when we planned the video for this everyone was supportive of us. The whole community contributed to it, it was like brotherhood and brotherly love, we moved as a unit”. Smilez added, “Since we started sharing the snippets a certain group has been feeling a certain type of way and targeting us because they think when we say ‘Outside’ we are looking for beef but we are letting people know now, we are ‘Outside’ working hard, focusing on our music, our visuals, looking good and all the boys looking fresh and keeping their energy good”.
D24 Smilez, hailing from the borough of Tallaght, the 19-year-old “trap baby” that holds a strict no rap cap policy. With a debut album ‘Eager’ under his belt which arrived in last August, Smilez has been putting a focus on quality over quantity, providing street banger after street banger in the last year. From ‘Bando’ Ft. LayLow to Valentine special ‘Fake Love’ with Dubzeno and the infamous ‘Drop Dat’ with Larry Alabi and A92’s Nikz. His Collaborator Youngiz a newcomer to the rap scene, arriving in 2020 with debut single ‘Pray from me’ and ‘Block Boy. Although Youngiz has only arrived he is someone to keep an eye on in the next couple of months.
