Basciville new single 'Calvary' out Nov 13th

Multi-instrumental indie/folk duo Basciville release their latest single ‘Calvary’ on November 13. Taken from their much-anticipated debut album 'Hymns To The Air' which is set for release early 2021. The song was written and produced during lockdown along with a cinematic video to accompany ‘Calvary’, created and filmed by Basciville and shot in Co. Wexford. Check out the video HERE
About the song, the band say:
"Calvary is about the connections between physicality and memory. How we allow ourselves to crave beyond accurate recall, blurring the lines around a physical connection and elevating it beyond what it was. In essence, nostalgic lust. It also looks at the emotional inconveniences we allow ourselves to suffer in the name of touch and want".
Brothers Cillian & Lorcan Byrne from Wexford began creating music together in 2016. Their distinctive sound combines raw emotive lyrics, paired with intense percussion and dark orchestral harmonies. Basciville independently released their debut EP 'Blues in Red' in 2016, receiving major critical acclaim. The follow-up EP 'For All Lost Youth' in 2019, featured lead track 'Post Youth' which received glowing reviews with national and international radio support.

Having performed headline shows throughout Ireland and Europe and appearing at countless festivals, the pair have cemented their reputation as an exciting live act with an ever-growing fanbase. Basciville’s sound is constantly evolving as they continue to hone their craft as skilled musicians and songwriters to create something very special. Their debut album ’Hymns To The Air’ has recently been completed and will be released in early 2021.
